Sephora Haul!

Sephora Haul!

Hello everyone and welcome new followers! I hope everyone is doing great and having a lovely time. I recently went on a Sephora trip and did some damage ahaha. Let’s just say I have plenty to show you and talk about. I was so surprised at all of the new products I have yet to explore! I started by looking at the makeup casually, and it eventually spread the whole store and ended up with skincare products and makeup! Palettes, pencils, glitter galore! So let’s jump right into this, don’t forget to comment down below and tell me what you think of these products!

Urban Decay:

I find Urban Decay to be a great brand. Their products always seem to last forever and are of excellent quality. In the past, my favorite products would be the Eyeshadow Priming Potion (which keeps eyeshadow on forever until you actually wash it off!) along with the 27/7 Glide on Eyeliner Pencils, the Naked 2 palette, and the Naked Basics palette. I have absolutely loved these products and hit pan on just about every eyeshadow color. So, as I was strolling through the lovely Sephora, I was immediately drawn to the gorgeous Urban Decay products that caught my eye. To start, the Naked 3 palette was basically glowing and is the most perfect palette for a Valentines Day look and spring in general. The shimmery pinks and nudes are so pretty! I cannot wait to experiment with this palette because the colors are so rich and pigmented. And from what my experience was with the Naked 2 palette, I have very high hopes for this one. The next product that literally caught my eye, was the Urban Decay Illuminated Shimmering Powder for the face and body. Wow, was that a mouth full or what! Sephora had the tester out and it was so shiny and so sparkly that I had to run over and swatch it. As soon as I saw how the color picked up on my skin, I was hooked. This powder is so shimmery it could be used for the perfect highlight or just to add some shimmer to an eyeshadow look. I was so shocked that I hadn’t heard about this incredible product yet. The color I got is luminous and I cannot possibly tell you how pretty it is. The last product from Urban Decay I picked up, was the Brow Beater Eyebrow Pencil. I haven’t used this yet, but as someone who was previously using the Anastasia Brow Pencil and the Chella Brow Pencil, I can tell I am going to like this product. The pencil itself seems to be a nice formula, waxy enough to hold your brows in place, but not weigh them down. Overall, my first impressions of each of these products is very impressive. I will give you all an update once give them all a real couple tries and tell you how I like them.

Skin Care:

Now moving onto skin care, I have multiple brands to talk about. Starting with Bosica, I have tried some of their products before and was looking for a product to gently take eye makeup off, like micellar water, so I picked up the Sake Cleansing Water to try. It actually works very well, I would highly recommend it to anyone wanting a nice micellar cleansing water that is very gentle. Next, I found the First Aid Beauty section and found an eye cream. I picked up the 5-in-1 Eye Cream that moisturizers and softens the delicate skin around your eye. As someone who has dry skin, this cream has drastically improved the dryness around my eyes especially in the morning. I have found that this product is best to use at night so you wake up in the morning with supple skin. The next two products were samples/Sephora points products. The first sample being the Peter Thomas Roth Irish Moor Mud Cleansing Gel. I have yet to use this product, but I have high hopes that it will hold up the “Peter Thomas Roth name.” I have used the cucumber face mask in the past and fell head over heels in love with it. So, from what I have tried in the past, I am sure this gel cleanser will be great. The last product was one I got from the sephora points I had built up. I have been hearing a lot online about the rose face mask with real rose petals from Fresh and when I saw that a sample of it was in one of the points boxes, I knew that I had to try it. I will most likely get hooked on this mark because it smells absolutely incredible and looks gorgeous.

I will definitely be letting you know in the future how all of these products that I have yet to try work out. I hope you enjoyed this post!! See ya soon!

Skin Care Routine!

Skin Care Routine!

Why hello there! I have been struggling with spotty and irritated skin for quite some time now and I can officially say that I have a group of products that have worked wonders and cleared up my skin. I personally have combination, acne prone, sensitive skin and I have probably tried just about every product out there. I alternate between two face washes throughout the week and they have truly changed the game in skin care. The first wash I use is Soap and Glory’s 3-in-1 Vitamin C face wash. This is great if you have dry skin because it will nourish and give your skin its moisture back. It’s oil free, which is great for acne prone skin and it has little beads that help exfoliate your skin to an extent before they dissolve. The next face wash I use is Panoxyl’s Foaming Acne Wash. I only use this maybe 3 times a week due to its strength because it can easily dry your face out if you use it everyday. But, if your skin has broken out all over or is a total wreck at the moment, I believe this face wash would give your skin a detox which would clear your acne.img_1477

For spot treatments I use Mario Badescu’s Drying Lotion. After hearing all the hype around this product, I thought I’d give it a try. This product is 100% worth the hype and price. It literally will clear a spot overnight, which I have never experienced before with a spot treatment. I was taken by surprise when I saw the incredible results this product delivered. This drying lotion is my #1 go to product for clearing single spots in a jiffy. The last product is another one by Mario Badescu. The oil free moisturizer is by far the best moisturizer I have tried. I had gotten to a point where I was totally frustrated with all moisturizers because they all had a crucial flaw in their formula. But after the success with Mario Badescu’s Drying Lotion, I thought I’d give his moisturizer a try and I am so so glad I did. I will say, I still do get the occasional outbreak, as I am a teenager, but this routine as help tremendously. Let me know in the comments what your favorite skincare product is, I’d love to try something new!

Vegan Chocolate Chip Cookies!

Vegan Chocolate Chip Cookies!

Hello lovelies, today I made my favorite recipe for vegan chocolate chip cookies! The recipe is originally from Minimalist Baker, but I tweaked some parts to make it my own. I hope you enjoy and let me know in the comments if you bake some for yourself!

Let’s get baking!

What You’ll Need:

  • 1 + 3/4 cup flour
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup dairy free chocolate chips*
  • 1/4 cup applesauce (unsweetened)
  • 1/2 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1/2 cup vegan butter* (1/2 cup=1 stick)
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp baking powder

*I use Enjoy Life’s vegan mini chocolate chips.

*I like to use either Earth Balance Buttery Sticks or Melt Butter Sticks.

Mix it up:

Step 1- Cream the butter in a mixer.

Step 2- Add the vanilla, applesauce, sugar, and brown sugar to the mix.

Step 3- Beat the mixture for 1 minute.

Step 4- Now, add the dry ingredients, salt, flour, cornstarch, and baking powder.

Step 5- Mix this together just until well incorporated.

Step 6- Now use your hands to knead in the chocolate chips.

Step 7- Once everything is incorporated, it is time to bake!

Baking:

  • Preheat the oven to 350° F.
  • Lay out a baking sheet and cover it with parchment paper.
  • Form balls out of the dough the size of a tablespoon and lay them on the sheet about 1.5 inches apart to allow for spreading.
  • Push the dough down on the sheet to form thick disks.
  • Now, put the cookie sheet in the oven for 12 minutes.

After baking, you can enjoy your dairy free desert!!

2016 Beauty Favorites: Glossier, Too Faced, Kat Von D, Chloé

2016 Beauty Favorites: Glossier, Too Faced, Kat Von D, Chloé

Hello again and Happy New Year! To bring in the new year, I am going to write about my favorite beauty items of 2016. Some amazing products came out last year and I luckily got to test some out. The last time I checked, all of these products are cruelty free, so no animals were harmed in the making.

Glossier:

To start, I fell in love with the brand Glossier this year. The makeup they produce allows your skin to breathe and not feel caked on at all. Your skin, although it still has makeup on it, still looks and feels like skin. The skin tint is wonderful because it doesn’t feel heavy at all. The same goes for the concealer. They work together to even the tone of your skin and correct blemishes without putting a whole other layer on top of your skin. Moving on to the lip products, the balm dot com is my absolute favorite product of the year. I have suffered with dry painful lips and cracking cuticles for the longest time until I discovered this product. It completely changed the game. Balm dot com is similar to vaseline but more moisturizing and smooth in my opinion. Vaseline tends to look greasy and gets all over the place. The great thing about Balm dot com is that it comes packaged in a convenient squeezable tube. I am confident that I can accurately review this product in particular because I have used two entire tubes of it. The first tube I purchased was the original, unscented balm dot com. I loved this so much that I decided to get a flavored/scented one. I went for the rose one and was not disappointed in the least. Overall, if you are looking for a lip balm, go for Glossier’s Balm dot com, you will not be disappointed. I also picked up one of their lipsticks. The color is “zip” and it was inspired by the zipper on their signature pink pouches. This lipstick is magnificent. It gives a hint of color as if you had jut blotted a heavy lipstick. In my opinion the perfect amount of color is distributed onto your lips and is the finishing touch to a makeup look. The next product I really enjoyed in 2016 is Glossier’s Boy Brow. This product is very similar to Benefit’s Gimme Brow but has some advantages over it. While they are both products that distribute color onto your eyebrows through the use of a tiny brush and tint, Boy Brow doesn’t make your brows stiff, but still keeps them in place, unlike Gimme Brow which makes your eyebrows stiff and crusty. I enjoyed both products but if I had to choose one of the other, I would go for Glossier’s Boy Brow, wearing it is a more natural and easier experience. The last Glossier product I am going to talk about is the Priming Moisturizer. Unlike many moisturizing primers this one really soaks into your skin, making it feel supple and healthy before applying makeup. To be honest, I even put this on when I am not putting making on, it is such a great moisturizer in itself. If you are looking for amazing quality makeup that is also healthy for your skin, look at Glossier’s line, I bet you’ll like it.

Too Faced:

This year, I have been particularly fond of two Too Faced products. The first one being their teddy bear hair brush set. I upgraded to these from my elf cosmetics ones this year and could not be more happier with them. The bristles are so incredibly soft that you wouldn’t expect them to be synthetic. They apply product wonderfully and easily. Plus, the pink handle and gold rim makes them even more enjoyable to use! You can probably guess what the next product I have been LOVING is…yep, you were right, its the Sweet Peach Palette everyone panicked over. When it was first released earlier this year, I wasn’t able to get ahold of one and was devastated when I discovered that they were completely sold out. I finally got one in December when they were released again and now I understand the hype around this palette. The colors could not be more perfect and they go so well together. My favorite shades are the pinks, corals, and golds. I cannot wait to use this palette in the spring! Also, the packaging is the cutest thing I have ever seen AND it smells divine! I literally wish Too Faced would come out with a perfume in the same peachy scent that this palette is infused with!!! If you are trying to decide whether or not to get this palette, just get it, trust me you will be overly satisfied with the purchase, it is worth every penny.

Kat Von D:

In 2016, I discovered a couple products from Kat Von D that have now become my staple items. Starting off, the Shade and Light eyeshadow palette is the best staple eyeshadows you could ask for. They are perfectly matte neutrals that are highly pigmented and last all day. There isn’t much more to say about this amazing palette other than it is the best basic eyeshadow palette that everyone should have in their collection. Moving on, the next product from Kat Von D that I have been loving is her blush. I don’t know what this one in particular is called because i found this gem at Marshall’s surprisingly! It’s kinda rare to find high end makeup at Marshall’s and T.J. Maxx but hey, it was waiting for me to buy it! The color is perfect for my skin tone and I believe it would compliment just about everyone! I love that it includes a lighter and darker side to the blush to give it a more natural color rather than one harsh, solid color on your cheeks. The last product from Kat Von D that I have literally used all year in 2016 is the liquid liner in the color trooper (black). This liner is just great, but what really kept me coming back to it is the tiny precision tip that allows for a sharp wing which I highly appreciate in an eyeliner. 10/10 products via Kat Von D, I am confident that she will continue to make amazing staple products that everyone needs.

Chloé:

I recently went to Marshall’s and discovered a Chloé perfume! It took me by surprise since Chloé is such a high end brand. When I smelled the fragrance, it was so lovely. It smells exactly like gardenias. I will say that it is very strong and you only need one spray. But it does seem to last all day long which is unfortunately rare for most perfumes. I absolutely love this perfume and I will wear it until the bottle is empty!

Chella/Tarte/Buxom:

The last products I have to share with you are the Chella eyebrow pencil, Taste eyebrow powder, and Buxom mascara. I love all of these products so much. As a long time Anastasia  Beverly Hills eyebrow pencil user, I can tell you that I prefer Chella over it. Their pencil is so fine and allows for more realistic looking strokes.I use the color taupe and couldn’t be more happy with it. I pair it with Tarte’s eyebrow powder that lasts all day! Lastly, after trying what seems like every mascara out there, I can finally say that Buxom has created a formula and wand that grabs the hair from the root and gives and natural yet full and curled eyelash look. I absolutely love this mascara!!!

I hope you enjoyed this post and had a wonderful new year!!

Happy New Year everyone!! Until next time,

Favorite Tarte Products

Favorite Tarte Products

Hello everyone! Today I am very excited to share with you some of my favorite products from Tarte cosmetics. I absolutely love this brand with all my heart. I love their message of cruelty free, vegan cosmetics. Their products are of extremely good quality and last so long compared to other makeup brands out there. Here are my favorite Tarte products as of now.

  • Tarte Brazilliance Maracuja Self-Tanner and Mitt

-This stuff is is down right amazing. I have tried numerous other self tanners and have not gotten the natural results I have craved. Tartes self tanner gives you a natural glow without looking orange AT ALL. The mitt applicator the product come with itself makes it 10 times better. With it you are able to apply it flawlessly without streaks or looking dirty. I have very fair skin and it is quite difficult for me to tan without burning. This was the answer I was looking for. It also smelled quite nice. Although it sounds strange, this product actually smelled really good, like a lotion I would buy. Not to mention it made my skin soooo silky smooth. Overall I would highly recommend this product to anyone looking for a great self tanner that lasts!

  • Tarte Amazonian Clay Foundation

– Tartes foundation has been my go to this season. Most of the previous foundations I’ve used left my face feeling greasy, weighed down, and cakey but not this. This foundation is like a breath of fresh air. It has amazing coverage, especially for breakout and redness. But somehow, it is not heavy on your face at all! It does an incredible job. Trust me, if you are looking for a full coverage foundation that doesn’t feel like foundation, go check this stuff out, I know you’ll like it.

  • Tarte Tartiest Glossy Lip Paint-Obvi

-I have been looking for a great everyday lip gloss that is natural. I’ve tried different nude lip colors but they all end up looking too close to my skin tone. This lip gloss is different, it’s not sticky and has a great feel. The color I picked up is Obvi. It’s a peachy nude that’s more on the pink side, which is exactly what I was looking for. Overall it’s a great everyday product with good consistency.

  • Lastly, Tartes Park Ave. Princess Contour palette

-There are no words great enough to describe this contour palette. The bronzer is has the perfect warm color without the orange look. It give you just enough color that really sculpts your face, especially when you top it off with a little bit of the blush and a streak of that gorgeous highlight! Oh the highlight is top notch! My cheeks glow all day long once I apply this stuff! I absolutely adore it! This palette is definitely my favorite contour kit I have ever tried. Tarte honestly is the best company in my opinion. They have great views and the products are the best quality without the cruelty to animals.

I hope you enjoyed learning about my favorite Tarte products! There will be more of these to come for sure, considering how much I love this Tarte!

                            Until next time,

  • 2-3 Frozen bananas-make sure they are frozen for optimal creaminess

  • 1 tablespoon of Peanut butter
  • And lastly toppings of your choice

How to make it:

  1. First, grab your blender

Once it’s all blended up, it should be somewhat thicker than a smoothie. Pour the nice cream into a bowl and add your toppings! I personally like to put chia, flax seeds, granola, and berries on top. Now congratulations! You’ve whipped up your first batch of nice cream! I hope you enjoy it!

Vegan Breakfast Ideas!

Vegan Breakfast Ideas!

Hello! Today I’m here with 3 delicious vegan recipes that I’ve been loving. I have become a big avocado fan, and since becoming vegan I have discovered some recipes that all incorporate avocado that are refreshing, healthy, and tasty! I hope you enjoy these recipes with quick and easy steps. They are great to bring for lunch to work or school. Now onto the recipes!

Recipe #1: The avocado, tomato, and cheese bagel

What you’ll need:

  • The bottom half of a bagel (everything bagels taste great with this recipe)
  • Half an avocado
  • A pinch of salt
  • One tomato
  • A slice of vegan cheese (Follow Your Heart has delicious vegan sliced cheese)

Steps:

  1. Toast the bagel half as much as you usually would (this will make sense later)
  2. While your bagel is getting all toasty, cut a whole avocado in half and score on side of it. Get a spoon and place it in a bowl. Next, use a fork and mash the avocado up and add a pinch of salt.
  3. Take your tomato and cut a fairly thick slice.
  4. Then, take your half toasted bagel, spread the avocado on the bottom, place the tomato, then the slice of cheese on top.
  5. Lastly, place your masterpiece back in the toaster just long enough so the cheese can melt.
  6. Enjoy your refreshing sandwich that will keep you full and energized until lunchtime!

Recipe #2: Classic veggie sub

What you’ll need:

  • A sub roll
  • Half and avocado and a pinch of salt
  • Vegan cheese
  • One tomato
  • Lettuce
  • Spinach
  • And a bell pepper

Steps:

  1. Cut open your bread
  2. Dice half an avocado, mash it up with a fork and add a pinch of salt.
  3. Smear the avocado spread along the bread
  4. Next, I like to lay down the vegan cheese so it has something to stick to
  5. Then, add the bell peppers and tomato.
  6. Lastly, add the spinach and chopped up lettuce.
  7. Enjoy!

Recipe #3: The veggie wrap

What you’ll need:

  • A tortilla wrap
  • Hummus
  • Spinach
  • Tomato
  • Finely chopped carrots
  • Bell peppers
  • Corn salsa (optional)

Steps:

  1. Lay your tortilla out and spread the hummus along the middle
  2. Sprinkle some corn salsa
  3. Place your spinach and veggies on top.
